EXPLAINED TOURIST ZONES Hacienda
Chavarría Formerly a Hacienda Pulquera (where Pulque
drink was made), and its tinacales are used today for parties and
Special Events, now it is a horse-breeding center, specializing in thoroughbred,
Quarter milers, ponies and ostriches. Although it is a private
Hacienda it is possible to obtain permission to visit or to organize
special events there. Location: Mineral de la Reforma, 5 miles to the south
of Pachuca near the highway to Sahagún City. Hacienda
San Bartolomé This was an agricultural
livestock and pulque producing Hacienda. It dates back to the XVI Century and
still has very well preserved elements like the staircase, Chapel, Cross and Archways.
You can observe the influence of the indigenous peoples handwork on the
barroque plateresque style of architecture. It was the site of the
Viveroy ceremony of the handing over of Sceptres. This is a tourist Hacienda
that can be visited and be rented for special events. Location: In Tepeapulco
about 28 miles from Pachuca, Sahagún City. Hacienda
Caltengo The
Hacienda Caltengo was an agricultural, livestock and dairy Hacienda.
In the thirties, it was used for breeding bulls for bullfighting. Nowadays it
offers its installations for social events, camping and conventions. This
is a tourist Hacienda that can be visited and rented for special events. Location:
In Tepeji del Río, (Km. 19 on the old México-Querétaro highway).
Santa María Regla Was build by The Count
of Regla, Don Pedro Romero de Terreros. Mining was its main activity
apart from the distillation of spirits. Today, it is open to the public and is
available for any kind of special event. Location: Huasca de Ocampo, 21 miles
from Pachuca. San
Miguel Regla A
beautiful XVII century Hacienda that belonged to Don Pedro Romero
de Terreros, the Count of Regla. Today it is a modern and exclusive hotel surrounded
by the countryside of the Huasteca valley. Due to its geographical position
and height above sea level, it is classified as an ideal place to promote optimum
concentration and therefore meeting goals and objectives are met.. Location:
San Miguel Regla is only 18 miles from Pachuca.
