 Location
Cancún is located to the northeast of the Yucatán Peninsula, in
the state of Quintana Roo. It borders to the north with the municipality of Isla
Mujeres, to the east and south with the Caribbean Sea and to the west with the
municipality of Lázaro Cárdenas. Cancún covers an area of
1,034 square miles. Cancún is situated at latitude 21º 10’ north
and longitude 86º 50’ west.
