EXPLAINED TOURIST ZONES

The Mayan Riviera is a coastal strip of more of 87 miles long located in the Eastern coast of Quintana Roo, México. It includes from solitary beaches to modern architectonic resorts that include hotels, sport navy facilities and restaurants. “Playa del Carmen”, for example, that was a calm fishing town, now lodges hotels of international prestige. Not very far is the main ecological reserve of the zone, Sian Káan, home of a very rich flora and fauna.

The main characteristic of the Mayan Riviera is its diversity. Here it is possible to choose from adventure sport, to practice golf or tennis, have a stroll round the forest by foot or horse, enjoy different aquatic and nautical sports, or the indescribable cultural and archaeological wealth of the Mayan world. The activity prefered by most visitors is scuba diving, since on the other side to the coast of the Riviera, is the Great Mayan Reef the second largest in the world. Here, the tropical marine life spectacle is unique and unforgettable.

Because of all this, the region that once embraced the splendor of the ancient Mayan civilization, is nowadays, a first class tourist destination, top of the list for both, national and international tourists.
