AEROMÉXICO CELEBRATES 75 YEARS TRAVELLING TO ACAPULCO

 

 

  • On September 14, 1934 began the history of one of the most emblematic airlines of our country with its first flight with destination to Acapulco.

 


75 years ago, Acapulco of Juárez, Guerrero was a village with not more than five thousand inhabitants that he(she) was at the foot of a bay of enormous beauty, a place of dream which only a few adventurers of the capital could enjoy after an unforgettable trip of two days of duration. On November 7, 1932, a diary published "Very shortly it will begin the urbanization of the resort Los Hornos, which proposes making the Driving Company Acapulco, S.A., constructing at the same time ten summer residences more, which will come to add to the already existing ones in this picturesque place. In the sixties, Acapulco would continue conquering to the entire world and Aircraft of Mexico it does a small honoring to the place that saw her to be born as airline, on May 10, 1962, there receives its second jet, a Douglas DC8 series 51, is baptized proudly by the name of Acapulco, the same day the new plane inaugurates the age of the jet in the route Mexico - Acapulco, leading to all the managers of airport and stations of the system of Aircraft of Mexico, to a meeting work celebrated in the port. The progress of Acapulco was spectacular and it forced the government to improve the facilities of the airport. On the first of June, 1974, Aircraft of Mexico, using AEROMÉXICO's trade name it introduces the DC10-30, for 277 passengers (22 in the first class) in the flights of Acapulco to Mexico City and New York.
